Both the evo and the R2 are remote release hooks — but they solve different problems.
You need to automate the full lift cycle
The evo hook uses a built-in magnetic system that attracts, centres and orients the masterlink automatically. The operator engages and releases the load remotely at every stage, with no manual contact required.
The right choice for repetitive lifting operations, high-volume environments, or any application where keeping the operator away from the load at all times is a priority — such as steel mills, ports, or automated production lines.

The R2 is a compact, lightweight hook designed for applications where the load is rigged manually but releasing it is dangerous, difficult, or impossible to do by hand.
Smaller and lighter than the evo range, the R2 fits easily into restricted spaces and is ideal for operations at height, confined environments, or single-use rigging setups where a full automatic system is not needed.

Intelligent Auto Hook
32 permanent neodymium magnets attract, centre and orient the masterlink automatically. A sensor confirms when the ring is in position. All activity is recorded in the eMAX remote control.
Efficient Crane Hook
High-capacity battery charges in three hours and allows up to 5,000 cycles or 250 hours on standby. Designed to reduce energy consumption during every lifting operation.
Powerful Release
The motor releases up to 20 kg of load — no more problems with heavy slings. The release limit is adjustable and protected by a safety latch so overloads or impacts do not damage the motor.
Built for Tough Conditions
Designed for steel mills, ports, and extreme temperatures. Hook body forged in type T or V with WELDOX high-strength steel.
R2 Quick Release Hook
Compact, lightweight, and built for operations where engagement is manual but release needs to be remote, safe, and reliable.

FAQs — Automatic Crane Hooks
What is the difference between the evo and the R2?
The evo hooks automate the full lifting cycle — magnetic engagement and remote release — with no manual contact at any stage. The R2 is engaged manually and provides remote release only. The evo is the right choice for repetitive, high-volume operations. The R2 is better suited for applications where the challenge is the release, and size or weight constraints matter.
Is it possible to open the hook with the load suspended?
No. Thanks to the fail-safe design on all Elebia hooks, the hook cannot open and drop a suspended load. Gravity keeps the hook closed. The electric motor does not have enough power to rotate it under load. (*) It does allow releasing slinging accessories whose weight is below 20 kg.
Can the Elebia hook be controlled using the crane’s remote control?
Yes. With the eINST installable remote control, the hook can be operated directly from the crane controls. The system is universal and compatible with all remote control manufacturers.
Can multiple hooks be controlled with the same remote?
Yes. The eMAX remote control allows simultaneous control of up to 24 automatic hooks.
Is the Elebia system valid for all types of cranes?
Yes. All Elebia hooks work with removable rechargeable batteries and radio control. No crane installation is required.
What is the lifting capacity of the evo range?
The evo range covers from 2.5 t (evo2) to 25 t (evo25). The R2 covers from 20 kg to 2,000 kg.
What is the warranty on Elebia products?
All Elebia products carry a 2-year warranty, except batteries which have a 6-month warranty period.
What maintenance do Elebia hooks require?
A visual inspection should be carried out to verify there are no cracks or deformations. Elebia recommends a complete technical review at least once a year or every 100,000 use cycles.
